BIOGRAPHY
Hans spent seven years at two prominent plaintiff’s firms in the Kansas City area. Hans handled all types of injury, death and insurance coverage claims, including motor vehicle collisions, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, shootings, electrocutions, construction accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, architectural malpractice and product liability claims. Hans also successfully litigated insurance coverage disputes, particularly issues related to offset and anti-stacking in UM/UIM claims. Within this time frame, Hans spent two years litigating mass torts related to defective pharmaceuticals and medical devices on a national level. This included conducting key expert depositions and discovery beneficial to numerous cases within the federal Multi-District Litigation setting.
Hans co-founded his current firm, Van Zanten & Onik, LLC, in 2014. Hans is not an employee of the Potts Law Firm, LLP, but serves as local counsel for Missouri and Kansas cases. Hans is a proud member of the Board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. Hans has been recognized as Best of the Bar by the Kansas City Business Journal. He has also been selected to Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers – Rising Star (2010-2013) and to Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers from 2014 to present.
